As women, our menstrual cycles can tell so much about our bodies. While it is very common for women to have problems with their periods, it is far from being normal. A healthy cycle is one that averages 28 days (may be a few days shorter or longer) and has symptoms that are nonexistent or are very mild.
Unfortunately, that "time of the month" can be painful and something a lot of ladies dread. The good news is that this CAN be resolved naturally. While a lot of doctors may prescribe birth control to help, it is important to know that most forms of birth control stop ovulation. This may seem like a good solution if you aren't trying to get pregnant, but it is not good news for your hormones. When you aren't ovulating, your body isn't producing any estrogen or progesterone. These two hormones are essential if you want strong bones, healthy bone and heart function, stabilized mood, quality sleep, and so much more. Whether you have just come off or continue to use birth control, it is important to do what is best for you wherever you are at in life. What is even more important though, is that you support your body along the way, regardless of what route you choose to take. Whatever option you choose, making sure you support your body will help it function much better, both now and in the future. On the other hand, maybe you know you will eventually be trying or are currently trying to get pregnant. As mentioned above, it is incredibly important to support your body and prepare it for the little life you are hoping to create. If you have been struggling to get pregnant, it is necessary that you know whether you are ovulating or not. Two helpful methods to track ovulation is through tracking cervical fluid and measuring your basal body temperature daily. A lot of insight can be given just on these two simple tools. It is also important to know whether your hormones are optimal, which can be based off either symptoms or labs. If your body is having a hard time supporting itself, it will have a much harder time supporting both you and baby.
As always, it is important that you run everything by your OBGYN. While I cannot currently give any pregnancy advice, I can help prepare your body for pregnancy and give you information that you can take with you into your pregnancy. - 60-90 minute virtual appointment where we will discuss a detailed plan of action designed just for you, based off the symptoms that were previously discussed and your current lifestyle habits
- Discuss lab results and changes to make based on results
- Personal supplement recommendations
- Provide handouts specific to your plan that you can keep on hand as you implement new lifestyle habits

- 30 minute virtual appointment to discuss any adjustments you would like to make after you had time to implement the changes from Appointment 2
